Another Halloween
has come and gone and this year marks Lukas' last begging, uh, I mean trick or treating adventure. For his spectacular last stand he went as a nerd and he pulled it off beautifully. As a bonus he was able to go trick or treating with his friend, just the two of them, no big brother, no adult (just a cell phone). I'm sure he felt quite independent and he brought home quite a stash. 3 Three Musketeers, 2 Nerds, 4 Hershey bars, 3 Baby Ruths, 9 Suckers, a glow stick, a stamp, 2 candy canes, 4 Skittles, 2 sodas, 7 KitKats, 2 Lemonheads, 2 Junior Mints, 12 Tootsie Rolls, 5 Milky Ways, 3 Sweetarts, 2 Snickers, 5 Laffy Taffys, 14 Reese's PB Cups, 3 Peanut M&Ms, Razzles, Atomic Fire Ball, Heath Bar, Pringle Stix, a Fruit Roll-up, Mike & Ike, Sour Punch Twist, 4 Almond Joys, Twix, Krackle bar, Granola Bar, a Pay Day, Take 5 bar, a Now&Later, and a Twizzler. Isaac decided to keep with the sports theme from last year but switched from soccer to baseball. He hit a "home run"
with that one. Sage being the awesome big brother that he is took Isaac around the neighborhood and he too struck the candy jack pot. 2 king-size Butterfingers, a baby Butterfinger, 9 KitKats, Nerds, Milk Duds, Mini Oreos, 5 Reese's PB Cups, Gobstoppers, Lemonheads, Atomic Fireballs, 5 suckers, an Otter Pop(??), granola bar, Starburst, Snickers, Hersey bar, Almond Joy, 2 Nestle Crunch, 2 Three Musketeers, Milky Way, 4 M&Ms and 1 Candy Cane.We at the house only had 1 trick or treater, and he was an older kid who said he was "jumped" and lost his bag. Poor baby. Sarah and Natalia were the candy-passer-outers, so when we got our one trick or treater, Natalia didn't care how old he was or what sad story he had to tell. She was thrilled to be able to give him something. As he left she hollered after him "Thanks for coming!" "Happy Halloween!" and "Sorry you got jumped!" She figured that if we were only going to have one she was going to make it count and enjoy it to the fullest.
(Note: If you're going to live in a neighborhood with a bunch of retired people, you'd better know the consequences.)

Only 1 trick or treater?? How sad! Those boys looked really great in their costumes! I had asked Lukas if he was going as his dad. He didn't think that was as funny as I did. Oh well! :)
Stephen and I laughed! Too funny :)
